What is a Care Binder?

Your Care Binder is a digital notebook containing all information pertaining to your loved ones care, including diagnosis, medications, routines, and more. Your Care Binder has it all in an easy to use, safe and secure platform. 

How do I create or edit my Care Binder?

Desktop: 

  • Log into your Joshin account. 
  • Click on the ‘Care Binder’ button at the top of the webpage. 
  • Click ‘Edit’ to update each section of your Care Binder.

Mobile App: 

  • Log into your Joshin account. 
  • Click on the person icon in the lower right corner. 
  • Click ‘edit’ to update each section of your Care Binder.

What should I include in my Care Binder?

Your Care Binder should include important information about the individual receiving care. Your Care Binder will be shared with caregivers before each booking so they know how to best support their needs. Your Care Binder can include diagnosis, medical details, and interests.

My loved one is medically complex and has some challenging behaviors. How much of that information should I include in my Care Binder if I want to be able to find caregivers?

All of it! At Joshin, we believe in informed decision-making. That means you should have access to all relevant information about your prospective caregiver, and they should have access to all relevant information about the person receiving care. The caregivers on our platform have a wide and diverse range of experience. They are willing to support you and your loved ones no matter how challenging or complex, as long as they have the information ahead of time.

Can I share my Care Binder with Care Providers on Joshin?

Yes! Your Care Binder can be shared with caregivers before each booking so they know how to best support you or your loved ones needs.

To share your Care Binder using the phone app:

  • From the main menu, click on Care Binder
  • Scroll down the page and select “Open Binder”
  • Click on the dropdown menu located at the top right of the screen
  • Select "Share" from the dropdown menu
  • Providers that are currently on your team will be listed under "Providers in My Team" and they will already have access to the Care Binder
  • To add a new provider to your Care Team, select the drop down menu under "Add Providers to My Care Team," and select the individuals you want to add

     

To share your Care Binder using a web browser:

  • From the main menu, click on Care Binder
  • Select "Care Team" from the left side menu
  • Under the Joshin Providers section select “manage”
  • Providers that are currently on your team will be listed under "Providers in My Team" and they will already have access to the Care Binder
  • To add a new provider to your Care Team, select the drop down menu under "Add Providers to My Care Team," and select the individuals you want to add
  • After choosing the providers to add, select “Add to Team”
  • Once the page refreshes, your provider list will be updated under "Providers in My Team"
  • Everyone listed as part of your Care Team has full access to your Care Binder 

To stop sharing your Care Binder from the app:

  • From the main menu, click on Care Binder
  • Scroll down the page and select “Open Binder”
  • Click on the dropdown menu located at the top right of the screen
  • Select "Share" from the dropdown menu
  • For the provider you want to remove, Select "Full View"
  • Remove

To stop sharing your Care Binder from the app:

  • From the main menu, click on Care Binder
  • Select "Care Team" from the left side menu
  • Under the Joshin Providers section select “manage”
  • For the provider you want to remove, select "Full View"
  • Remove
